As a Spray Painter / Surface finisher technician, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Preparation, painting and quality checking of GE, Rolls Royce and many more components following all relevant standards, work instructions and drawings
- Preparation, Thermal Spray and quality checking of GE, Rolls Royce and many more components following all relevant standards, work instructions and drawings
- Undertake a wide range of paint preparation duties including grit blasting, Shot Peening, sanding and masking
- Maintain the Paint workshops, tools, and its equipment in accordance with health and safety requirements
- Complete work documents and systems during and upon completion of work including in the Pentagon ERP
- Fulfill other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your team leader from time to time.
About your new team
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisors, you will be part of a team full shop work team. The team forms part of the greater production team across various disciplines include includes the Welding, mechanical & CNC machine, thermal spray and Assembly teams and Armour Shop. APA is seeking fulltime day worker at our Chapman Place facility with excellent work life balance shifts of 6am – 4pm Monday – Thursday.
The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology (or equivalent);
- Experience in an Aviation, Defence, or other heavy industry Painting role.
- Working knowledge of Paint technologies and standards relating to aviation/vehicle painting.
- Additional workshop disciplines will be advantageous (welder/boilermaker/machinist)
- High Risk Work Licences including crane operation, forklift, elevated work platforms (desirable); and
- The ability to gain and hold the appropriate Australian Security Clearance (must be an Australian citizen)
